MY FAVORITE THINGS....

MORE FABULOUS FEATHERS! I have been a HUGE fan of Jacquie Aiche jewelry for a long, long time dating back to when I purchased my favorite snake ring and bracelet set. Every time I see the line at market there is always something new that I have to have. Usually I show some decent restraint but this last time I just couldn't. Behold the fine jewelry version of the feather earrings. These "ear threads" are as delicate and light as a real feather and just as beautiful.

Mine are 14K vermeil but they are also available in 14K solid gold.

LOOK WHAT I FOUND!

BIRDS OF A FEATHER.... While walking the MAGIC show last August, as things were starting to get a bit uninspring, I came across this amazing line of feather jewelry. Sounds like an oxymoron, I know, but the use of mixed beads, leathers cords and the most gorgeous feathers known to nature make this line different from the others. While feather jewelry has been on the fashion scene for years and years and a $10.00 staple at Urban and Forever 21, check out the pictures to see how SEREFINA has beautifully updated this old classic.
PS. No anmals were harmed in the making of this jewelry!

THE LATEST & GREATEST FIND!

THE MODERN FLARE:
What do you get when you take the super tight jegging leg, add a flare bottom, trouser pockets and morph them all together? The BEST thing that had happened to denim in a while.
Neither of these pictures does this amazing pair jeans justice but they are super styling and have a fit that is off the charts. I have seen a lot of what's new in denim for Spring '11, lines are showing a lot of great boot cuts and flares (got to give the customer a reason to buy a new pair of jeans), but none are quite as exciting as these. Super flattering with a truly amazing fit these "modern flares" are a serious "must try."  Maybe the "flegging" has just been born! See link below.

While we are on the subject of denim.......

my coveted denim collection.

This is a partial shot of the denim currently in my closet. As you can see I am a denim junkie. Each piece has it's own unique personality and sends off it's own particular vibe. I am covered on the basics, skinny jeans in dark denim, vintage wash, black, a pair with zippers and a cropped version. Jeggings in a similar color assortment but the army green is a favorite. Boyfriend jeans, washed out and dark denim, with holes, with out holes, lt. weight denim, heavy denim, extra big and baggy and not so big and baggy.  There are classic straight leg and rolled cuff Levis, denim trousers from Madewell, super flares from Jbrand, "sexy city jeans" to wear at night, denim for flats, denim for heels and the list goes on and on.....
I have my favorite brands but I am not a denim snob. I will wear ANY pair that looks good on my not so small fashionista body whether it be from Barney's or Urban, Nordstrom or Loheman's. So, when I tell you that I have found my new FAVORITE pair of jeans, I hope that I have convinced you to take note.

BREAKING NEWS

MOTHER KNOWS BEST???? There is a new premium denim line ready to hit the stores this spring, yes! another premium denim line.
The story goes like this..... And I can't give away too much.
One of the founders of 7 For All Man Kind partners with sales gal extraordinaire, responsible for putting Citizen of Humanity on the map and together they create MOTHER Denim. 2 years in the making, they have perfected a fabric that looks like denim but feels like cashmere, (nothing wrong with that!) and styled the line with a vintage feel. All of the best stores have placed orders so if you want to be the first to have a pair, you can find them at Barney's, Fred Segal, www.shopbop.com, E Street Denim, Scoop and Intermix, just to name a few. Look for them in the beginning of February.

V.1
We are all Fashion Scouts. We scout fashion on a daily basis. Whether we look through fashion magazines, shop on line, form an opinion about a friends outfit and even look through our own closet for what to wear, we all scout fashion, I just happen to make a living at it. I'm part Fortune Teller, part Private Investigator and in constant pursuit for newness in the LA fashion scene!  I won't bore you with all my resume details but I have been employed by the LA Fashion Industry for the past 18 years and have been a die hard fashion girl from early on. I had my own clothing company and have worked for some amazing companies over the years designing Jr. and contemporary dresses which are now turning up as very hot items in vintage stores, OUCH!
Since hanging up my croque and sketch pad I have been lucky enough to partner up with an amazing women who together we actually make a living at scouting fashion. Stores pay us for our opinion, insights, information and relationships. They pay us to find them "the next big thing." Exciting, yes! Glamorous, sometimes! Interesting, inspiring and fun, always!
While much of my fashion scout information cannot be displayed publicly due to risks of items being copied by other manufacturers, people are always asking me questions which I can easily answer. What's in for spring? What's the new hot item going to be? What is the color of the season? I always have an answer, hopefully the right one.
Fashion Scout Style was created so I can now shout the answers from the roof tops, to a larger crowd of people who can't meet me in the carpool line or at a birthday party and pick my brain for free advise. It was created because so many people asked me, pleaded with me to do one and I can't resist sharing my opinion.
